Are you an undergraduate or post-graduate student looking to gain practical experience in the dynamic world of sports and entertainment management? Look no further! The Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance is excited to offer you the opportunity to join our team.

Internship Details

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate university students are encouraged to apply. Occasionally, post-graduate internships may also be available.

  • Preferred Background: While not mandatory, candidates with a background in business/sports administration, sports marketing, sports management, communications, journalism, or simply a genuine passion for sports and entertainment are preferred.

  • Duration: Our internships are available during the fall, spring, and summer academic semesters. The duration can be flexible depending on both the needs of the HVSEA and the individual student.

  • Work Arrangements: Internships take place at the offices of the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance, located at 204 West Beaver Avenue, State College, PA, 16801 where you will have access to office equipment and receive complimentary parking (if needed).

The Intern Experience

Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience across several facets of our organization's work, including:

  • Event Management: Engage in the planning, organization, and successful execution of a wide range of sports and entertainment functions, spanning from local tournaments to high-profile events.

  • Marketing: Learn the art of promoting and publicizing events through various channels, including digital marketing and social media.

  • Communications: Hone your writing and communication skills by crafting engaging content for press releases, newsletters, and social media platforms.

You will be entrusted with significant responsibilities crucial to the success of our events, attend staff and board meetings, and provide support to our full-time staff members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an academic program consistent with marketing and management in the sports industry.

  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior sports-related experience is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Friday, May 31st by 5:00 EST (Fall Term)

  • Friday, November 1st by 5:00 EST (Spring 2025 Term)
