The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) and the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance (HVSEA) today announced a multi-year contract extension that will see Centre County and a portion of Clinton County host the IRONMAN® 70.3® Pennsylvania Happy Valley, PA triathlon through 2029.

Rothrock by UTMB™ is the newest stop on the UTMB World Series and the second event on the Eastern side of the United States, joining Grindstone Running Festival by UTMB®. The inaugural edition will take place May 16–17, 2026 in Rothrock State Forest, just outside State College, Pennsylvania (Happy Valley).
The event features 50km and 25km distances that build on the legacy of the Rothrock Trail Challenge, established in 2009.
IRONMAN 70.3 PA HV is an exhilarating half-distance triathlon that challenges athletes with a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1-mile run. Set in the scenic landscape of central Pennsylvania, this event fosters community spirit and camaraderie among competitors. Participants will experience the thrill of racing while enjoying local support along the course.
