Celebrate the Holidays With Hockey

State College, PA | December 11, 2023 — A long-standing staple in the local sports community is set to return at the close of 2023. Teams from far and wide will converge on Happy Valley to compete in the 42nd Hockey Valley Invitational, scheduled to take place from December 27-31, 2023, at Pegula Ice Arena on the campus of Penn State University.

In a departure from tradition, the tournament has shifted its schedule from spring to the holidays, injecting a fresh burst of excitement into an already eagerly anticipated event. The tournament, a USA Hockey Sanctioned event, will kick off with 10U and 12U competitions from December 27-29, followed by additional 12U action and 14U/16U division play from December 29-31.

“25 visiting teams, many with PSU alumni parents and coaches, are joining us for a great 5 days of hockey.  Most are visiting Pegula Ice Arena for the first time and it’s fun to see their reaction to this world-class hockey arena right here in State College,” said Peter Sides, Tournament Director.
