2024 Champion of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism in Sports Destination Management for the Pennsylvania Middle School Basketball Championship
STATE COLLEGE, PA - Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced the 2024 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. This year’s winners are responsible for contributing a more-than-welcome boost of over $1.88 billion to the national economy over the past year.
Among the winners was the 2024 Pennsylvania Middle School Basketball Championship, produced in cooperation with Happy Valley Sports Entertainment Alliance in State College, PA.
The 2024 Pennsylvania Middle School Basketball Championship has been hosted in State College, PA yearly since 2019. The two-week event brought in 329 teams from across the coast, leaving an economic impact of $4.16 million. With such a large number of teams participating, the event requires multiple facilities in Centre County to hold these events. The event continues to bring in teams, families, and friends from across the state every year to help boost the economy.
