State College prepares to host State Games of America

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — State College is preparing to welcome athletes from across the nation for its first time ever hosting the State Games of America.

More than 8,000 athletes and their families will travel to Happy Valley to compete in a wide variety of Olympic-style athletic competitions.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, July 31, at the Bryce Jordan Center and will feature a performance by acrobatic performer The Red Panda.
