State Games of America comes to Happy Valley

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The State Games of America, an Olympic-style competition featuring more than 30 sports, will begin in earnest this weekend in Happy Valley.

This 10-day event is set to bring thousands of athletes and spectators to the area, filling a historically slow period in the local tourism schedule.

The competition is expected to attract participants from across the country, aiming to boost local tourism and maximize community engagement. The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau sees the event as a crucial opportunity to draw visitors during times typically less active than the football season.
