Still Haven’t Hit Your 2025 Fitness Goals? The Nittany Valley Half Marathon Is This Weekend, And There’s Still Time to Join!

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. With less than a month left in 2025, you might be reflecting on those fitness resolutions you made back in January. The good news? It is not too late to accomplish something big before the year wraps up. The Nittany Valley Half Marathon returns this weekend, and whether you want to run, volunteer, or just support a great local cause, there is still time to get involved.

When & Where

The Nittany Valley Half Marathon is a long-standing State College tradition, offering a scenic and challenging course through our community. Race day energy is always high, and this year promises to be no different.

Good news:

  • Online registration has closed, but you can sign up in person! Registration is available on Sunday, December 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Snider Ag Arena.

  • Volunteer spots are still available.

This race is truly open to anyone who wants to be part of it.

Supporting Centre Volunteers in Medicine

One of the reasons this race matters so much to Happy Valley is the charity it supports: Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM).

What CVIM Does

CVIM provides free, high-quality medical, dental, case management, and preventive health services to low-income individuals who live or work in Centre County and lack access to healthcare. Their team, made up of staff and dedicated volunteers, helps thousands of neighbors receive care they otherwise could not afford.

By running or volunteering this weekend, you are not just participating in a race. You are supporting essential healthcare access for people right here in our community.

Whether You Run or Volunteer, You Are Making a Difference

Runners can expect a scenic, famously hilly course, strong local race energy, and the satisfaction of closing out the year with a major accomplishment.

Volunteers help with water stations, course support, check-in, and more. No experience is required, and it is a great way to spend a morning and give back.

Both runners and volunteers contribute directly to CVIM’s mission, making this event one of the most meaningful year-end traditions in Centre County.

Finish the Year Strong

If you have been waiting for a sign to take action before the year ends, this is it. Lace up, sign up, or show up to help. The Nittany Valley Half Marathon is the perfect way to finish 2025 feeling proud, strong, and connected to your community.
