Volunteer Opportunities: USCAA and PIAA are headed to Happy Valley

State College, PA - Sept. 25, 2024 - The USCAA and PIAA are headed to Happy Valley and are looking for volunteer help. With the USCAA tournament running from October 13 to 15 and the PIAA tournament from October 21 to 23 the Penn State Golf Course is going to be busy with many volunteer opportunities!

The USCAA tournament, which will host athletes from 71 different schools, expects a great turnout with multiple different volunteer positions available. The tournament is looking for volunteers to keep on-course scoring along with course spotters who will mark balls hit into the rough. Volunteers will also help to maintain the pace of play amongst golfers. The USCAA will provide all volunteers with a free t-shirt, along with an on-site meal.

For the third consecutive year the PIAA will be hosting their State Championships at Penn State and are looking for volunteers to fill different positions. You can sign up for volunteer positions such as drivers, spotters-forecaddies, and on-course volunteer supporters. They are also in need of a starter/announcer or monitor; if interested, email Ken Miller at kenmiller1919@gmail.com. All volunteers will receive a complimentary pullover along with an on-site lunch.

Take the volunteer occasion to spend the day on Penn State’s beautiful greens aiding in two great tournaments. With many different positions offered by both the USCAA and PIAA tournaments there are great opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Happy golfing, we can’t wait to see you there!

Sign up today for the USCAA or PIAA golf tournaments and choose your preferred volunteer positions!
