Annual Centre Film Festival returns for the 2024 season

State College, PA - Oct. 4, 2024 - The annual Centre Film Festival is returning to Happy Valley for its sixth year in a row. The festival will take place through a seven-day period starting November 11 until November 17. The annual festival allows filmmakers the chance to see their movie on the big screen. With screenings from local filmmakers across PA, the festival presents itself as a great learning opportunity for all involved.

This year, filmmakers are given the chance to work together and brainstorm new ideas for upcoming projects. Masterclasses are also offered for teens who wish to pursue a career in film or want to just enjoy a new hobby. The festival is a great opportunity for filmmakers of all ages to learn and share new experiences.

Not only are there many learning opportunities available at the festival, but awards are also given out to the best film in each category. The Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance will present the Sports on Screen Award at the Centre County Film Festival. This award honors the best film that incorporates sports through its themes, characters, or storylines. Last year, five films were featured in this category, highlighting the growing intersection of sports and cinema.

If interested, tickets are available for purchase on the website for $48 while students get in for free. The festival will be taking place at the State College Theater in downtown State college along with the Rowland Theater in Phillipsburg, PA. We hope to see you there!
