Penn State University Announced as ncaa championship host

State College, PA - Oct. 4, 2024 - For the fourth time ever, the NCAA has put most of its championship up for bid with Penn State earning the honor to host four different events between 2027-2028.

After receiving over 1,200 bids from 47 different states the NCAA has announced more than 240 host sites to hold one of their 87 championships. The decision for which facilities got selected was based on what environment could hold a grand experience for these student athletes, along with other NCAA requirements and bid specifications.

Pennsylvania was selected to host 20 different events across the state, tying with Texas as the second biggest host state. This includes Men’s Ice Hockey at the PPL Center in Allentown along with other facilities in Lehigh Valley, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, York, Lock Haven, and State College.

Here’s what events Penn State will be hosting:

  • 2027 Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country Regional

    • Blue/White Golf Course

  • 2028 Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Regional

    • PPL Center

  • 2028 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championship

    • Multi-Sport Facility Center

  • 2028 National Collegiate Men’s Gymnastics Championships

    • Rec Hall

As the 2027-2028 Championship approaches, Penn State begins to prepare for NCAA athletes and coaches. The Championship dates have not yet been selected, but you can find a full list of facilities and championship locations below.
