USA Wrestling State Championships Relocated to State College, PA 

State College, PA – May 8, 2024 – The Pennsylvania USA Wrestling State Championships have been relocated to State College on short notice. The Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance is proud to announce that the event will now take place at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre, from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19, 2024. 

This prestigious wrestling event, spanning three days, will bring together talented wrestlers from across the state to compete for the title of state champion in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling styles. 

The championship will feature intense competition across various age groups and weight classes, with wrestlers vying for victory and recognition in their respective divisions. From the youngest competitors in the 8U category to seasoned athletes in the Senior and Master divisions, the tournament promises thrilling matches and displays of athleticism. 

Registration for the event is available online only, with no walk-in registrations accepted. Wrestlers must register individually for both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines. It is essential to note that all wrestlers must weigh in separately for each style, with weight changes permitted from their qualifier weight. 

In addition to the main competition, spectator admission is open to wrestling enthusiasts eager to witness the action firsthand. Tickets are available for each day of the event, as well as a weekend pass option for those planning to attend all three days. 

The schedule for the State Championships is as follows: 

Friday, May 17: Freestyle competition for all divisions (except Junior Men and Junior Women), with weigh-ins from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and wrestling starting at 6:00 PM. 

Saturday, May 18: Freestyle competition continues for Junior Division and other divisions, starting at 9:00 AM, with weigh-ins from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Greco competition for all divisions (Boys and Girls) begins at 5:00 PM, with weigh-ins from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. 

Sunday, May 19: Greco competition continues, starting at 9:00 AM, with weigh-ins for Junior Division from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. 

Both wrestlers and spectators are reminded of the importance of following all guidelines and regulations outlined by USA Wrestling to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
