Volunteers Needed: Join the Fun This Summer in State College

STATE COLLEGE, PA- Summer in Happy Valley is packed with exciting events. From fast-paced bike races and lively beer festivals to top-level junior golf tournaments. Behind each of these memorable experiences is a dedicated team of volunteers who make it all possible. None of these events would be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm help bring these experiences to life—whether you're guiding athletes, assisting guests, or working behind the scenes.

On July 19, the Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest will take over the Porter North Lot near Beaver Stadium, showcasing more than 75 breweries. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for those who enjoy craft beer and a festive summer vibe. Help is needed for setup and breakdown crews, ticketing and ID checks, ice and stock management, and alcohol service teams.

Next, the State College Criterium is coming to downtown on July 26, 2025. This fast-paced bike race will host the PA Masters & Elite Criterium Championships, with cyclists racing through the streets. Volunteers help make it all happen by serving as course marshals, helping with the kids’ race, and handing out water. It’s a fun way to be part of the action and help keep the event safe and exciting.

In early August, Toftrees Golf Resort will host the American Junior Golfers’ Association (AJGA) tournament from August 4–7. This event features some of the best junior golfers in the country, many of whom go on to play in college or professionally. Volunteers are needed to help with tasks like checking in players, keeping score, handing out water, and providing basic medical support. It’s a great way to be part of a top-level golf event, and all volunteers receive official AJGA gear and meals during their shifts.
