Encouraging Youth Cycling: Free Kids Race at the State College Criterium
STATE COLLEGE, PA- The excitement of race day isn't just for the pros! As part of the high-speed action of the State College Criterium on Saturday, July 26, young cyclists will get their chance to shine in the Kids’ Race — a FREE and fun event that puts little riders on the big stage.
Open to children ages K-6 , the Kids’ Race lets future champions experience the thrill of riding a portion of the same downtown course used by the pros. It’s an unforgettable opportunity to be part of one of Happy Valley’s most energetic events, surrounded by cheering crowds, enthusiastic volunteers, and the buzz of competition.
The race begins at 2:45 p.m., with day-of registration available before 1 p.m. Parents should bring bikes and a properly fitted helmet. Whether your child is racing with training wheels or confidently cruising on two, this event is all about having fun, being active, and building memories.
The State College Criterium is more than just a bike race — it’s a community celebration. And there’s no better way to inspire the next generation of riders than to let them join in on the action. So mark your calendars, bring your cameras, and get ready to cheer on the kids as they race their hearts out downtown!
