The Rothrock GRIT Gravel Grinder is an epic off-road bike adventure over the rugged ridges of Rothrock State Forest. The awe-inspiring vistas, mountain laurel-flanked trails, and crushing climbs of this ride will leave you breathless in more ways than one.
Ready to challenge yourself? This unique race offers riders the opportunity to participate at 4 levels: Gritty, Grittier, and Grittiest, as well as the NEW! Endurance GRIT 100 with 106 miles of gravel and 10K ft. of climbing!
In addition, the GRIT will host a Junior Gravel National Series race for boys and girls respectively ages 15-16 (Grittier) and 17-18 (Grittiest). A U14 junior category is also being discussed.

The USSSA Rock n Rumble is a softball tournament in State College. It features youth teams in the 12U-18U age divisions competing at Hess Fields and Oak Hall Regional Park.

3 game minimum teams could play up to 5 games based on results. Play 2 games Saturday & 1 to 3 games on Sunday. FST supplies baseballs, umpires and awards to the top 2 finishers in each age group. 1 of the 14U fields will be Penn State's Medlar Field -1st 4 teams to register and pay will get a game there on Saturday. Championship round will play there on Sunday too!

The New Orleans-based Hot 8 Brass Band draw on the traditional jazz heritage of their hometown, alongside more modern styles, including elements of funk, hip hop, rap, and its local variation, “bounce.” The collective earned a win in the 64th Annual Grammy Awards 2022 for their feature on John Batiste’s ‘Album of The Year’, following the nomination of ‘The Life & Times Of…’ for ‘Best Regional Roots Album’ in 2013.
Transcending genres and trends, Hot 8 have performed and collaborated with the likes of Jon Batiste, Blind Boys of Alabama, Basement Jaxx and Alice Russell, and provided live support for Mos Def, Lauryn Hill and Mary J Blige. Since forming they have established a decade-long affiliation with actor/BBC 6Music DJ Craig Charles, among other tastemakers, DJs and journalists worldwide. After a festive appearance Live at Maida Vale for Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), the Hot 8 Brass Band performed for Jools Holland’s annual Hootenanny on BBC Two to welcome in 2019. Later that year, after taking to the stage at the BRIT awards in February, Hot 8 Brass Band were invited on the European leg of George Ezra’s tour.

Rothrock by UTMB™ is the newest stop on the UTMB World Series and the second event on the Eastern side of the United States, joining Grindstone Running Festival by UTMB®. The inaugural edition will take place May 16–17, 2026 in Rothrock State Forest, just outside State College, Pennsylvania (Happy Valley).
The event features 50km and 25km distances that build on the legacy of the Rothrock Trail Challenge, established in 2009.

20 years is a long time to spend doing anything at all. It’s an age for any group of people to sustain a collective effort. For a band on the road, 20 years can be more than a lifetime. Yet, after 2 decades of making music together in living rooms, listening rooms, clubs, theaters, and festival stages, The Steel Wheels are still growing, still pushing, still at it, and they’re marking the occasion with the release of their 9th studio album, “The Steel Wheels”.
Following the release of “Sideways” in 2024, their 3rd record with producer Sam Kassirer at his Great North Sound Society studio in interior Maine, the band felt it was time for a change of scene. As the group began to select songs for a new album, they also had to find an answer to the question of where they would get down to the work of record-making. They didn’t know that answer was going to knock on their back door.
