BJC General Manager Al Karosas named instructor at esteemed Venue Management School

Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center general manager, Al Karosas has been appointed an esteemed role in the live entertainment industry - instructor at the International Association of Venue Managers’ (IAVM) Venue Management School.

Karosas graduated from Penn State with a degree in exercise and sport science in 1995 and began his career at the BJC before it was ever officially open. He then graduated from the Venue Management School in 1999 and shortly after he completed IAVM’s Graduate Institute in 2014. A year later he earned his Certified Venue Executive (CVE) designation, which is acknowledged worldwide as the highest professional certificate in the venue industry, awarded to significant leaders and experts. He credits the push-start of his professional career to the Venue Managment School.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be invited to teach at VMS,” Karosas said. “I’m excited to contribute to the development of future leaders and give back to a program that has meant so much to me.”

Beyond his leadership at the BJC, Karosas currently serves on the board of the Happy Valley Sports and Entertainment Alliance, remaining actively involved with the world of live entertainment and tourism.
