Happy Valley Cycling State College Criterium Set for July
By Matt Traub SPORTS TRAVEL BY NORTHSTAR—Competitive cycling is coming to downtown State College on July 26 with the first-ever Happy Valley Cycling State College Criterium. Sanctioned by USA Cycling, the event will serve as the Pennsylvania State Criterium Championships for Elite and Masters divisions.
“The criterium promises to be a fun, family friendly day,” said Eric Engelbarts, HVSEA Executive Director. “The Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance especially wants to thank State College Borough for approving the downtown course.”
The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with course previews and racing starts at 9. A special kids' fun race for grades K–6 will roll out at 2:45 p.m., giving young riders a chance to experience the thrill of racing.
