State College is gearing up to host the CPFCA Lezzer Lumber Classic this summer at Memorial Field on Sunday, June 16th. Drawing top-tier talent from 32 schools across Districts VI and IX, kicks off will start at 6:00 p.m.

There are wrestling hotbeds throughout the United States and while most know of the tradition of Iowa and Oklahoma State collegiately, there’s always been one place where the sport’s heartbeat pumps faster and louder than others – Pennsylvania.

Happening every 3rd weekend of each month, “The Art of Performance” is a recurring celebration of artistry and talent. From Friday through Sunday, Downtown State College will come alive with the sights and sounds of incredible performances and displays.

Wrestling fans attending the 2024 Olympic Trials in State College, Pa., will be in for in for a treat when they leave Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center between sessions as there will be a free Fan Fest across the street at Pegula Ice Arena.

The event is scheduled to take place on April 5th and 6th, 2025, at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre. More than 45 collegiate club fencing teams from across the nation will converge for this competition, showcasing their skills and camaraderie during the two-day tournament.

Competition at this level brings family and fans to town from not only around the county but around the country, and State College is ready, according to Eric Engelbarts of the Happy Valley Sports and Entertainment Alliance.

Rich Engler presents a “Bob Marley Celebration” starring the legendary Wailers with special guest star Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root Uprooted Trio at the beautiful Tussey Mountain Amphitheatre in Boalsburg, PA on Sunday, June 23. The concert begins at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m.

Tickets for Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest will go on sale at 10:00 AM EST on Wednesday, March 27. Attendees can choose from three exciting ticket packages, each offering a unique experience tailored to suit their preferences: VIP, General Admission, and Designated Driver.

With a stellar lineup of artistic talent and creations, it is interesting to observe that the 2023 Centre Film Festival made presentations to an actress and a short film that are among the nominees for Oscars this year.

Based on a 2022 study commissioned by the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance (HVSEA), the average Penn State football home game generated about $12 million regionally from weekend visitor spending. That region isn’t simply limited to Happy Valley either, but within about an hour’s drive of Beaver Stadium — meaning most, but not all, of the impact remains in Centre County.

After a rigorous regular season competing against local teams, this championship offers a unique opportunity for teams to face off against fresh opponents from all across the state, with more than 95% of teams traveling from out of town.
