The Pennsylvania USA Wrestling State Championships have been relocated to State College on short notice. The Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance is proud to announce that the event will now take place at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre, from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19, 2024.

The State College Spikes, along with the league’s other five founding members, the Frederick Keys (Frederick, Md.), Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Niles, Ohio), Trenton Thunder (Trenton, N.J.), West Virginia Black Bears (Morgantown, W.Va.) and Williamsport Crosscutters (Williamsport, Pa.) will start their 80-game 2024 schedule on June 4th, with Trenton hosting State College, West Virginia hosting Frederick and Williamsport hosting Mahoning Valley.

Engelbarts just finished his first year as executive director of the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance. The alliance was launched last year by the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau to bring more events here, increase the area’s visibility and boost the economy.

“Not only am I always — me and these guys, my whole band and crew — so thankful to be able to step out here every night in front of you guys, we never take it for granted,” Combs said, adding the attendance was 80K. “But I just thought y’all would like to know, this is the biggest show I’ve ever played in my whole life. State College is gearing up to host the CPFCA Lezzer Lumber Classic this summer at Memorial Field on Sunday, June 16th. Drawing top-tier talent from 32 schools across Districts VI and IX, kicks off will start at 6:00 p.m.

There are wrestling hotbeds throughout the United States and while most know of the tradition of Iowa and Oklahoma State collegiately, there’s always been one place where the sport’s heartbeat pumps faster and louder than others – Pennsylvania.

Happening every 3rd weekend of each month, “The Art of Performance” is a recurring celebration of artistry and talent. From Friday through Sunday, Downtown State College will come alive with the sights and sounds of incredible performances and displays.

Wrestling fans attending the 2024 Olympic Trials in State College, Pa., will be in for in for a treat when they leave Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center between sessions as there will be a free Fan Fest across the street at Pegula Ice Arena.

The event is scheduled to take place on April 5th and 6th, 2025, at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre. More than 45 collegiate club fencing teams from across the nation will converge for this competition, showcasing their skills and camaraderie during the two-day tournament.

Competition at this level brings family and fans to town from not only around the county but around the country, and State College is ready, according to Eric Engelbarts of the Happy Valley Sports and Entertainment Alliance.

Rich Engler presents a “Bob Marley Celebration” starring the legendary Wailers with special guest star Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root Uprooted Trio at the beautiful Tussey Mountain Amphitheatre in Boalsburg, PA on Sunday, June 23. The concert begins at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m.
